Breaking The Law of Average
The law of average is a term I use to describe the tendency to gravitate to being mediocre rather than excelling above the mean. If you are average you are by definition the best of the worst and the worst of the best. We settle for being controlled by this law of average for many reasons. Excelling seems to be out of reach and after much effort, frustration sets in, and by comparison we become resigned to our mediocrity and partially or completely give up. We become resigned to the illusion that we just can't compete. We consciously and/or subconsciously come away with the idea that we are somehow inadequate and not enough.
It's time we put an end to that type of thinking and realize we are all completely unique, which means there is really no competition. Our individual creativity and our unique contribution to life assures our place in this world. We can break this law of average by knowing the power of our true "Selves" and by competing only with our past selves. We are always the best in our individual worlds, as we continue to grow to be the next best version of ourselves.
I know the concepts in this book have helped me and are continuing to help me break through my limited thinking by eliminating my "average mind set." I believe it can help you as well.
